Peak Performers has partnered with a national energy company to assist in their search for a remote
Business Analyst I. In this contract position you will work directly with data scientists, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure AI and IT initiatives stay aligned with business goals and on track. The Team You Will be Joining - A growing company serving approximately 3.5 million customers across several states. Its primary business is the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity and natural gas.
Major duties - Attend and actively participate in Data Science and AI project meetings with business and technical stakeholders.
- Maintain and manage Azure DevOps (ADO) boards, ensuring tickets are up-to-date and accurately reflect project progress.
- Assist in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and capturing detailed meeting notes and action items, risks and blockers.
- Create presentations and documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Translate business needs into clear documentation and action items.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document business requirements, support task prioritization, sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Support Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Monitor project timelines and deliverables, helping to identify and mitigate risks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team and organization.
What are we looking for?- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML concepts and IT systems or data analytics.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project lifecycle.
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, and Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar project tracking tools.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to take on new tasks or learn
- Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
- Basic understanding of data pipelines and machine learning workflows preferred.
- Experience or coursework in project management is a plus.
