At Niko’s Bakery & Café, we pride ourselves on serving scratch-made baked goods, sandwiches, and coffee in a welcoming atmosphere. We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking dishwasher to join our team in the afternoons and help us end each day on a clean and positive note.

Position Summary:

The Afternoon Closing Dishwasher is responsible for keeping the kitchen and dish area clean, organized, and running smoothly. This role focuses primarily on dishwashing, cleaning, and closing duties, but may also include assisting with light food prep and providing customer service when needed. The ideal candidate works quickly, takes initiative, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dish area, kitchen, and back of house
• Complete closing cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and restocking supplies
• Assist with light food prep tasks as needed
• Respond quickly and politely to customer needs, including occasional drive-thru window service
• Work with urgency to keep up during busy times while maintaining high cleanliness standards
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff

Qualifications:

• Prior dishwashing, cleaning, or kitchen experience preferred but not required
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently without constant supervision
• Must be able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to cleanliness and food safety standards
• Friendly and professional attitude when interacting with customers and coworkers
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods at a sink

Schedule:

• Afternoon and evening shifts, approximately 4-5 hours per day
• Must be available to close the restaurant
