Description: About the Position: The Project Engineer provides engineering support in a cross-functional team in our wheeled product line with responsibility and authority to deliver key products and to integrate and test them at the subsystem and vehicle level. The Project Engineer provides support-related performance activities and drives key decisions to meet project schedule and cost goals.

Responsibilities to Anticipate/Expect: - Possess, understand and apply the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of project management to plan and execute engineering projects
- Generate and execute project plans and integrated schedules
- Establish funding mechanisms to facilitate work scope
- Forecast and maintain project demand files
- Facilitate and support technical and programmatic events
- Lead vehicle system-level design, integration, build, and test activities
- Represent the project and engineering organization to GDLS leadership and our customers
- Prepare bids and provide bid support for any applicable RFI or proposal efforts
- Coordinate incoming problem reports for prioritization and processing
- Support change processing metrics through tracking, measuring and managing aging issues to resolution
- Propose/assess process improvements to increase through-put of design updates and customer satisfaction.
- Familiarity with CAD tools & Teamcenter experience
Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field. Other degrees will be considered with relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Department of Defense or similar industry
- Experience in design, development and integration of complex systems
- Must have excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Windows XP and Microsoft Office with adequate computer skills to manage the development of presentations and other methods of media display
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills
- Must have excellent business acumen and negotiating skills
- Ability to travel as needed as some traveling may be required
- T his position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
