Job Description

TX-STAR Speech Language Services has been serving schools since 2010 and is currently partnered with over 40 school districts plus a multitude of agencies and regional cooperatives. Our staff are highly trained and experienced in educational environments, specifically special education roles. TX-STAR’s background of working with all disciplines within Special Education departments provides us unique insight into serving various districts and making strong matches between our contract service providers and the campuses and student populations they get to thrive in.

Through our partnerships with a growing number of Texas schools, we are continuing and actively recruiting for at the start of and all through each school year!

We are seeking skilled and passionate School Psychologists to work in Dallas, TX school-based settings, with students of various ages and possessing diverse learning needs. Our School Psychologists will be responsible for administering assessments and evaluating students to determine eligibility for special education services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of students to determine eligibility for special education services.

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.

  • For students qualifying for special education services, assist in providing needed services through the use of consultation, assessments, counseling, problem-solving, and educational strategies.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to ensure appropriate educational services for students such as classroom intervention plans.

  • Conduct re-evaluations of students as required by federal and state regulations.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, evaluations, and IEP’s in accordance with ISD and state regulations.

  • Participate in meetings with parents and other stakeholders to discuss assessment results and IEPs.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in School Psychology or a related field.

  • Valid Texas certification as a School Psychologist.

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a School Psychologist in a school setting.

  • Experience administering and interpreting a variety of assessment tools, including cognitive and academic assessments.

  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding special education services and assessment practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff.

  • Flexibility, adaptability, and strong time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to multiple school locations as needed.

  • Bilingual language skills in English and Spanish are highly preferred.
