Job Description Senior Interior Designer/Project Manager If you are a passionate Senior Interior Designer looking to join a growing firm, there is an incredible opportunity that awaits you! An exciting and highly collaborative Architectural Design Firm in Phoenix, Arizona is looking for a top-notch Interior Design Project Manger to oversee a variety of complex project design solutions. The Senior Interior Designer/Project Manager will be tasked with managing high performance teams, creating visually compelling interior environments, supporting our clients brand and culture, engaging their staff, and integrating modern technology and efficiencies. This position is designed to be a vital role within the organization with a voice in leadership and long-term company growth trajectory. Location: Hybrid position with excellent work/life balance. Key Responsibilities: The Senior Interior Designer will consult with clients to determine function and special requirements and prepare information regarding design, specifications, materials, colors, equipment, and construction time. Oversees unified design for client review and approval. Lead project design teams and ensure proper management flow for all phases of active projects, including management of budgets and schedules. Establishes and documents regular project related meetings, including clint, internal team, and consultant meetings. Collaboration with building and permitting officials during permitting and construction phases of projects, submits for permits as appropriate. Knowledge of building codes, standards, and the ability to resolve design issues. Develops detailed project schedules and communicates key deliverable dates to project teams. Plans, organizes and manages work of project team and ensures tasks and expectations are clear. Mentors and directs the work of junior staff, participates in professional development training and review sessions. Provide strong leadership through the management of relationships at all levels, internally and externally, with ownership, clients, production staff, consultants, and contractors. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree: Interior Design or Architecture 8+ years of experience of Design Project Management in a professional, commercial interior design or architecture firm. Experience with Corporate/Tenant Office Interiors preferred. NCIDQ and LEED certifications preferred Proficiency and confidence in Revit, and working knowledge of AutoCAD required Demonstrated knowledge of design, furniture selection/specifications, applicable building codes, QA/QC process and construction documentation and administration. Demonstrated ability to manage and lead all levels of staff through a combination of authority and subject matter expertise. Proven ability to write and negotiate contracts for services, consultants and contractors.
